Flags are user definable visual cues placed on the schedule to alert other users of specific meanings. Up to four different flags can be dropped in each customer cell.

Schedule Flags

Schedule Flag Definition

1) Log into Fore! Reservations.

2) Select the File | Setup | Options menu item.

3) On the General tab in the Flags box there are four fields. Type in the description of each flag in the appropriate field. These definitions appear on the schedule when right-clicked. Define descriptive yet succinct flags.

4) Click the OK button and restart Fore! Reservations when requested.

Schedule Flag Placement

1) Log into Fore! Reservations.

2) After booking a tee time, there may be a need to mark a customer with a flag to alert others. Because most flags are placed immediately after taking a reservation, this offers a way to convey information at a glance to the staff or others on the day of the reservation.

3) Right-click the mouse on a specific customer.

4) Select the Flag menu item and then the specific flag desired.

5) The flag appears on the right margin of the cell.

Flag Removal

A flag may be removed from the schedule the same way it was manually placed. Right-click on the flagged cell and select the Flag menu item. A submenu displays the enabled flags with a check mark. To turn the flag off, just select the flag. Selecting a check-marked flag toggles off the flag, and selecting an unchecked flag toggles it on.

Cart Flag Procedure

For some facilities, it is important to identify the customers with carts to better manage low cart inventory or improve customer service when golfers inquire if a cart was already purchased. For these reasons, a visual cue of cart purchase information is needed. The automated cart flag feature uses one of the user definable flags to indicate a cart has been purchased. The automated flag feature works much like the fee coloring of the schedule. For this flag to work properly, the cart fee must be purchased in the same transaction as a green fee tied to the schedule. If the green fee is not tied to the schedule and does not turn the cell green, the automated cart flag placement does not occur. However, at any time, a cart flag can be manually placed on the schedule as noted above.

Define Cart Fees

Each item sold must be designated as a cart fee if you want the flag on the schedule:

1) Log into Fore! Reservations.

2) View | Fore! Sell.

3) File | Setup | Sales Item.

4) Change the cart checkbox from the sales item screen.

5) Once all items necessary are designated as carts, click the OK button on the Sheet view to save changes.

Cart Fee Option

1) Log into Fore! Reservations.

2) Select File | Setup | Options menu item.

3) On the General tab, identify the flags box. Select which flag represents the automated cart flag and type in an appropriate description such as Cart Purchased. This definition appears on the menu when right-clicking on the schedule and selecting Flags.

4) Click the OK button to save the changes and close the Options window.

5) Click OK to the message that restarting is necessary, but do not restart at this time.

6) Go to View | Fore! Sell.

7) File | Setup | Options.

8) On the General tab, click on the pull-down menu next to the Cart Flag field.

9) Select the Flag that represents the cart flag.

10) Click the OK button and close Fore! Sell by File | Exit.

11) Close Fore! Reservation by File | Exit.

Placing a Cart Flag

To automatically place a cart flag, simply ring in a green fee from the schedule and add a cart fee. Once the transaction is complete, the schedule cell color turns the green fee color and the appropriate flag is placed, representing the cart fee purchase. If a mistake is made or if a cart is purchased independently, then this flag may be manually placed by right-clicking and selecting Flag and then selecting the cart flag. A flag may always be removed manually. But like green fee colors, returning a cart in the shopping cart does not remove the flag from the schedule.
