2008 Procedure 22 Open Tickets

Print

Open tickets can be created in the shopping cart or in the touch screen by clicking the tab button when sales items are in the shopping cart. Also described as running a tab, open tickets are most commonly used in a grill area where people are served at a table. Other examples include outings, a customer selecting more merchandise, or a customer leaving to get money.

Start Tab

1) Log into Fore! Reservations.

2) View | Shopping Cart.

3) Add sales items to shopping cart.

4) Click Tab.

5) Enter in tab reference name and click OK or use the default reference name. Use a reference name that best identifies the customer such as the customer‟s name, the color of his/her shirt, or the customer‟s table number.

Recall Tab

1) Log into Fore! Reservations.

2) View | Shopping Cart.

3) Click Open Tickets.

4) If clarification is required, hover the mouse over the ticket and a receipt bubble displays the open ticket‟s contents. Select the open ticket then click the Recall button.

For historical integrity, items placed on tab cannot be removed. Instead, additions are added to the end of the existing tab. Thus, deleting an item from the tab is accomplished by entering the item again with a negative quantity. Attempts to change items already on tab automatically create offsetting entries.

When applying a customer discount in the shopping cart, Fore! Reservations allows a customer discount to be applied after the invoice is put on tab. This is allowed because the sales items themselves are not modified during the process (i.e. the customer‟s name on the tab changes to another name).

Split Tab

1) Log into Fore! Reservations.

2) View | Shopping Cart.

4) Select ticket to split (ticket must have more than a quantity of one).

5) Click the Split button.

6) In the Tab Split screen make your changes (see Split on page 108 for more information).

7) Click OK and save.

8) The original ticket has been split.

Void Tab

1) Log into Fore! Reservations.

2) View | Shopping Cart.

3) Select Open Tickets.

4) Select ticket to void (hover over the ticket with the mouse to display the contents of the ticket).

5) Click the Void button.

6) To finish, click OK to the warning about voiding an open ticket.

To avoid fraud, periodically print the Voided Open Tickets Report in Fore! Sell.

Add to a Tab

1) Log into Fore! Reservations.

2) View | Shopping Cart.

3) Select the desired sales items in the shopping cart or touch screen.

4) Select Open Tickets.

5) Select ticket to apply these items.

6) Click Add.

It is also possible to recall the tab first and then continue to add more sales items in either the shopping cart or touch screen.

Transfer a Tab

A ticket placed on tab from one machine can easily be transferred to another (i.e. from bar and grill to golf shop). On the first machine create the ticket:

1) Log into Fore! Reservations.

2) View | Shopping Cart.

3) Select the desired sales items and click Tab in the shopping cart.

From the other machine:

1) Log into Fore! Reservations.

2) View | Shopping Cart.

3) Click the open ticket tab.

4) Highlight the ticket from the other machine and click the Recall button.

5) Add additional items and click OK to post the transaction.
