To enter the Touch Screen, click the Touch button in the shopping cart. This screen is useful in snack bars and grills where a few items are used often . When you first enter the Touch Screen, you will be taken to the Home menu. This is a menu that has been defined on a machine as the first screen you see when you click the Touch button. To change the Home menu, see the Home option on page below.
In the Touch Screen, you will notice four main areas:
Ten Key and Item Grid
This area is on the far right side of the Touch Screen. It has a ten key pad which allows quantity and price to be changed without a keyboard. The item grid lists the items on the current invoice.

Button Field
This area occupies most of the screen, and is the center of the Touch Screen. This is where all your touch buttons will appear.

The left half allows you to add sales items simply by checking the sales items you want to add to the current screen. The sales item grid can be sorted by clicking the column headings. Columns can be rearranged by dragging and dropping the columns in a new location. Column changes are only saved for the current session. Sales items can be added in Fore! Sell in the Sales Items Screen.
The right half displays modifiers and menus that are already in the system. To add a new modifier or menu, type the name in the next available row.

Proper Setup
There are a few concepts to keep in mind when setting up the Touch Screen.
-
A Menu is a modifier that has subitems. If you want to create a menu for all your sandwiches, you would first create a modifier called Sandwiches. Then right-click on the Sandwiches button and select Add Buttons as Subitems. In the Add Buttons screen, select all the sandwich sales items and click OK. You now have a Sandwiches menu that contains all your sandwich items.
-
Favorite settings only apply to menus that do not show in the Menu Bar.
-
Minimum and maximum modifiers only apply to menus that show in the Menu Bar.
-
Placement of the Touch Screen buttons is configurable by holding down the shift key while dragging a button into the desired spot.
-
For a button to show in the Menu Bar, the menu must be directly under the sales item. The setup for a Cheeseburger with a Temp menu would go as follows:
o Right-click Cheeseburger and select Add Buttons as Subitem.o In the Add Buttons screen create a modifier called Temps and click OK.o Click on the Cheeseburger button and then right-click the Temps button and select Add Buttons as Subitem.o In the Add Buttons screen, create and/or add all your Temps such as Rare, Medium, etc.o Click OK and the Temps button will show in the Menu Bar.o Repeat the process to add more Menus.
Using the Touch Screen
Ringing in Items
When you ring in a sales item with modifiers, the Menu Bar will appear on the left side of the screen with all the categories of modifiers. When you ring in a cash modifier (a sales item that acts like a modifier), the modifier will appear in the item grid with a "$" next to the item. If you ring in a non-cash modifier, the modifier will appear in the grid with a "+" next to the item.
Minimum and Maximum Modifiers
If a Menu in the Menu Bar has minimum and maximum modifiers set, the Navigation Area will prompt you with this information. If you do not meet the minimum or maximum requirements for the item, you will not be permitted to leave that menu/item.
Item Shading and Blocking
In the Item Grid, whichever item you are currently working with, that item and all its modifiers are shaded yellow. There is also a black line that separates each item block from each other so you can easily tell which modifiers go with each item.
Editing Items
To edit what modifiers are on an item, simply highlight the item in the item grid and, based upon which item/modifier you have highlighted, you will be taken directly to the submenu. Any modifiers that are already on an item will be marked with "***ADDED***". Clicking a modifier with "***ADDED***" will cause it to be removed from that item. Keep in mid that removing a modifier from an item my cause it to go below its minimum modifier amount, in which case you would be prompted to correct the problem. This ability to remove modifiers is only available to items that have not yet been placed on tab. If an item has been placed on tab, you cannot delete individual modifiers from it but only delete the entire item.
Open Tickets
To view any open tickets without going back into the shopping cart, click the tab button when the item grid is empty to display the open tickets screen.
Background color for the employee column can be set in the user screen. The background color allows users to quickly distinguish their open tickets.
Your open tickets are displayed by default. The My Tabs/All Tabs button toggles between open tickets by the user or all open tickets. Use the Login button to change Fore! Reservation users. This is a quick way to view only your open tickets without having to close Fore! Reservations and log in as your user. Please note that using the login changes the user logged in throughout the software and anything done from that point on is recorded under the new user. This open tickets filter is not applied in the shopping cart.
Splitting Tabs
Once an open ticket is selected and the split button is clicked, the tab split screen opens with the original invoice in the ticket 1 slot.
Use one of the three methods of moving items to make changes: drag and drop, arrow buttons, and point and click. The text boxes above each slot is the reference. When an item is moved to a blank slot, the orginial reference is copied. The reference name can be changed at any time.
Please note the following:
1) Sales items cannot be edited, deleted, or added in the tab split screen.
2) Reference names cannot be blank.
3) Slot one cannot be empty.
4) Once split, the original invoice is voided and up to three new invoices are created.
5) If you need to split a ticket into more than three invoices, you can use the split button as many times as you want to continue to split as long as there is more than a quantity of one on the ticket.
When all changes are made, click the check mark at the top of the screen to save the changes and exit. Click the "X" at any time to cancel and close the screen.
