Important Notice Regarding 64-bit Operating Systems
If you are buying a new computer for a POS machine, please make sure that it is not a 64-bit operating system. Fore! Reservations has yet to receive proper drivers from hardware vendors for credit card readers (Magtek) or bar code scanners (Metrologics) for 64-bit operating systems. The computers sold at most retail stores (Best Buy, OfficeMax, etc.) are all preconfigured with a Windows 7 64-bit operating system. The difference is not clearly evident to consumers that make such a purchase, and is the reason for our warning. As you may have noticed Fore! Reservations recently installed a new phone system here in our Burr Ridge office. Even though our phone numbers haven't changed, we want to make sure all Users are aware of each department's contact information so you can readily reach who you intend to speak with; and so we can best assist you when calling. Also, a feature of the new system gives you the option to wait on hold for the next available representative if you prefer holding over leaving a voicemail.
