At the 2010 National Users Conference back in November, we presented a new concept at Fore! Reservations called The Five Pillars Fore! Success. I also talked about these five basic software tools and how they can turn your Fore! Reservations system into a “money making machine” in one of my blog’s earlier this spring. I thought this would be a good time to check back in with everyone on your implementation progress. So how are you doing? Have you activated the technology outlined in The Five Pillars Fore! Success? If not, there’s still time to do so, and if you do, you can increase your rounds and revenue this season. Let’s look at the five pillars again, but this time, give yourself an implementation score out of a possible 10 points.
Pillar #1 – Data Collection
Award yourself 2 points if your course does one of the following:
-Has a Touch Screen Kiosk
-Incentivizes golfers to book online
-Incentivizes your counter staff to collect customer e-mails
Pillar #2 – Weekly E-mail
Award yourself 2 points if your course:
Utilizes the new Fore! Marketing Promotion Campaign to schedule weekly e-mails that promote course offerings and tee time availability.
Pillar #3 – Webpage Strategy
Award yourself 2 points if your course:
Utilizes Fore! Internet booking tools on your website that brand your golf course and provide you control over your Internet pricing strategy.
A proper webpage strategy is critical to every golf course’s success. How you sell your tee time inventory online has a huge impact on your average green fee revenue and the representation of your brand.
Take away 1 point if your course:
- Doesn’t offer online tee times
- Doesn’t offer a “Low Price Guarantee” on your website
- Has any third-party tee time reseller on your website
- Uses a website provider that brands itself, not your golf course
- Is not in complete control of your online specials
Award yourself 2 points if your course:
Has Comeback Coupons activated that help increase rounds and revenue by targeting slower tee times, or promoting golf shop merchandise or food and beverage specials that could benefit from increased sales.
Pillar #5 – Automated Marketing
Award yourself 2 points if your course:
Utilizes the Fore! Marketing product to automate your e-mail marketing campaigns.
If you scored 10 points, congratulations! You’re well on your way to a successful season! If you’re somewhere in the 7-8 point range, great job!
